One of the unmistakable joys of visiting South Africa is tasting her world class wines right on the soil where its grapes have matured. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful vineyards, but we are here to help you find exactly what you have in mind. One of our own favourites is the Great Dame of all vineyards, Groot Constantia. On these magnificently beautiful slopes at the edge of Cape Town, Simon van der Stel established South Africa’s very first wine farm over 330 years ago. Today, the charming towns of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl make up the heart of the country’s winelands. Imagine rolling vine-covered hills against dramatic mountain ranges, oak-lined lanes and dazzling white-washed Cape-Dutch homesteads. This area is also known as South Africa’s culinary hotspot where fine dining is of an exceptional level. The Cape Winelands is an idyllic region to meander your way through. Food, wine, art and breathtaking nature come together here in the most beautiful way.
